Xuantong (Sam) Bai is an upcoming third-year undergraduate at the University of Cambridge. In the summer of 2024, he worked as a summer student at LIPNE under the supervision of Professor Peter Bossaerts, focusing on a project exploring how individuals actively search for data to uncover hidden information they are curious about.
Sam’s primary academic interests revolve around how information influences learning on both individual and social levels. This interest extends to its impact on stochastic choice, computational complexity, information seeding and cascades, endogenous formation of social order, and the imperfections of market hypothesis and bargaining. He is also keen to further explore experimental approaches and econometric analyses related to these topics in the future.
