Kristian Rotaru

Kristian Rotaru is an Associate Professor at Monash Business School and an Adjunct Associate Professor (Psychology) at the School of Psychological Sciences, Monash University. He is also Chair of the Monash Business Behavioural Laboratory (MBBL) Steering Committee and Associate Director of the Opportunity Tech Lab. His interdisciplinary research spans decision science, cognitive psychology, and neurophysiological measurement techniques, with applications in finance, economics, accounting information systems, and operations management.

At Monash Business School, Rotaru leads research projects employing neurophysiological tools, such as eye-tracking, cognitive pupillometry, and electroencephalography, as well as immersive technologies like virtual reality, to investigate the behavioural and neurocognitive underpinnings of decision-making. His work centres on emotion regulation, affective decision-making in everyday economic behaviours, the neurocognitive and functional correlates of addiction and wellbeing, and the design and testing of interventions for behavioural change.
